In Different Shapes
These images are of New York City-based musicians immersed in creation and performance throughout the summer of 2022. Some were taken at live shows, wherein an energetic symbiosis between audience and artist defines the image. Others were made in private in recording spaces, as the artists ideated and plotted points sonic ideas for their albums, tracking, layering and chiseling away at specific pieces.
These images are about community and sharing one's most intimate artistic products with peers, collaborators, fans, friends and lovers. To make art in New York City is to be part of a pool of collaborators, sharing their most authentic selves.
The artists depicted include Sitcom, the Frost Children, Dan English, Emma Stacher and Charlotte Rose Benjamin. ♦
