Isolating as a Creative

I'm sure that this is a challenging time for all creatives out there, as it is for me too; Not being able to explore and find inspiration in the world, but I think it would be valuable to share some tips that I have gathered over the past few weeks whilst helping to #flattenthecurve.

THOSE MAGIC TEN MINUTES
I have been told endless times that the way we spend the first ten minutes of our morning lays out the foundations for what the rest of the day will hold. For example, if you set out to have a productive day, enforce yourself to make your bed, or on the other hand, perhaps you feel that your soul needs a little love and healing that could surely be benefited by reading a few affirmations as soon as you wake up. The bottom line is, you are taking control of as much as you can in the current climate and this will enhance your control over creativity too.

"YOU'RE DOING AMAZING SWEETIE"
As the iconic Kris Jenner says, you really are doing your best. We can not compare ourselves to what we were before this experience. Being kind to ourselves involves praising the small things that go towards being a creative, the small things sometimes being the hardest; Starting projects, deleting junk mail or even just wearing matching underwear. Show some care to the world and ourselves (I recommend garden picnics).

SHARE CREATIVITY
Sharing work or projects you have been working on will not only help bridge the gap created by social distancing but will also give you a second perspective you may now be lacking since working at home and this may even help with motivation and encouragement for both you and fellow creatives. This can be anything from snapchats of the 6th loaf of banana bread you have made this week to some Instagrams of a large scale oil painting you have been meaning to complete for 6 months.

But lastly and most importantly show some extra love and stay at home!
